Claudia Alfons

Claudia Alfons (* 1983 in Friedrichshafen ) is a German local politician (non-party). Since May 1, 2020, she has been Lord Mayor of the large district town of Lindau (Lake Constance).

Education and professional career

After graduating from high school in 2002, Alfons began studying law in Würzburg . She moved to Freiburg , where she passed the first state examination and worked as a research assistant at the Walter Eucken Institute (Freiburg). She did internships in the German Bundestag (Berlin) and in the German Honorary Consulate in San Antonio ( USA ). She worked as a research assistant in the international law firm Freshfields ( Vienna ) and did her doctorate. She then did a legal clerkship at the Düsseldorf Regional Court and passed the 2nd state examination. She also stopped off at the European Commission (Brussels). She then joined the international law firm Taylor Wessing ( Munich ) as a lawyer . After all, she worked as a judge at the Augsburg District Court , as a public prosecutor at the Munich II Public Prosecutor's Office , as a consultant at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection ( Berlin ) and as a judge at the Munich Regional Court.

Political career

Claudia Alfons is non-party. In the local elections in Bavaria in 2020, she stood as a candidate for the Lindau Initiative (LI), the Bürger Union (BU) and the FDP for the election of Lord Mayor of the city of Lindau (Lake Constance). She won the runoff election against Mathias Hotz ( CSU ) with 52.7% of the vote.

At the same time, she ran for the Lindau district council and moved in for the FDP.

Claudia Alfons is married.
