Claudia Momoni (born November 27, 1963 in Rome ) is an Italian medalist .

Career

Claudia Momoni attended a state art school in Rome until 1981 and graduated in 1985 from the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Giuseppe Romagnoli of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato . She first worked in the jewelry industry and gained experience in driving , engraving , lost wax casting and jewelry design . In 1993 she successfully took part in a competition of the Istituto Poligrafico, which also functions as a state mint , and was hired as an engraver. Her first significant work was in 1995 when she designed a 50,000 lire gold coin for the 800th birthday of St. Anthony of Padua . Her design of the face of the Italian euro coins for 10 cents became known beyond national borders and the community of coin collectors . Momoni also designed some editions of the San Marinese and Vatican euro coins for the Italian mint .
