Claudia Pia Eimer (* 1962 in Thun , Canton Bern ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

It was in the 2008 Einwohnerrat of Stein am Rhein selected. From 2012 to 2016 she was non-party mayor of Stein am Rhein and the first woman in this office.

Life

Claudia Pia Eimer grew up in Goldach SG and attended the Rorschacherberg teacher training college, worked as a primary school teacher in Bazenheid / Toggenburg and studied psychology , folklore , social and economic history at the University of Zurich . She later practiced as a psychologist and alternative practitioner in the Appenzellerland and moved with her practice to Stein am Rhein in 2005.

From 1999 to 2006 she sat on the board of directors of Mineralquelle Goba Gontenbad / AI . During stays in France and England , she attended various language schools. She completed further training in project management at the ZHAW Winterthur . In addition to her independent work in her own practice as lic. phil. As a psychologist and naturopath, she also works as a city and museum guide.

Political career

In her work as mayor of Stein am Rhein and advisor for education, social affairs, culture, tourism and business, she was involved in various foundations and offices. She acted as a board member for the Jakob and Emma Windler Foundation and stars - the Stein am Rhein Symposium . As president of the foundation she was involved in the «Dr. Bruno Herzer Foundation », which takes care of the support of children and young people of needy parents or single parents residing in Stein am Rhein. For the promotion of tourism she was active as a board member at Schaffhauserland Tourismus, Tourismus Stein am Rhein and Tourismus Bodensee-West. She was a founding board member of the Association of Mayor Presidents of the Canton of Schaffhausen VGGSH, whose tasks include representing the concerns of the communities vis-à-vis the canton. As president of the construction and operations committee, she chaired the ARA wastewater association and the Upper Cantonal Waste Management Association. From 2013 to 2017 she was a member of the Board of Directors for the Swiss Shipping Company Untersee und Rhein (URh).

At the end of 2016, she resigned from office as mayor after she had renounced another candidacy.

On September 26, 2017, Eimer was nominated as a candidate for government council at the meeting of SP delegates in Schaffhausen's “Rüden”, who was supposed to win back the second seat in the Schaffhausen cantonal government , which had been lost to the SVP 17 years ago, on November 26, 2017 . She ran for the seat of the resigning SVP finance director Rosmarie Widmer Gysel , but was clearly defeated by SVP candidate Cornelia Stamm Hurter.
