Claudia Scheerschmidt

Claudia Scheerschmidt (born August 2, 1964 in Oberschönau ) is a German SPD politician . From 2017 to 2019 she was a member of the Thuringian state parliament , to which she had already been a member for a few months in 2014.

Scheerschmidt trained as an industrial clerk and took further training in administrative management at the Administrative and Business Academy (VWA) in Erfurt . She is currently working in the accounting department of the Steinbach-Hallenberg chimney service . Since 2004 she has been the honorary mayor of her home town Oberschönau. She is a member of the district council of the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen , the presidium of the municipality and city federation of Thuringia and the board of the social democratic community for local politics (SGK). On February 1, 2014, she replaced Wolfgang Lemb in the Thuringian state parliament . For the state election in 2014 , she ran at number 15 on the SPD state list, which was not enough for re-election. As a direct candidate in the Gera II constituency , she received around 11% of the vote. On October 19, 2017, she replaced Christoph Matschie in the state parliament. For the state election in Thuringia 2019, she was unsuccessful in the constituency of Hildburghausen II - Sonneberg II .

Scheerschmidt is divorced and has one child.
