Claudia von Collani

Claudia von Collani (born January 10, 1951 in Schweinfurt ) is a German theologian .

Life

She studied Catholic theology in Würzburg , specializing in missiology, as well as Sinology and Japanology . (1976 diploma main examination in theology with Bernward Willeke and Hans Steininger . 1983 doctorate with Bernward Willeke and Klaus Wittstadt in Catholic theology in the subject of missiology with the dissertation: P. Joachim Bouvet SJ His life and work.) From 1997 to 2003 she was Research assistant at the Department of Mission Studies, Würzburg, temporarily women's representative at the Faculty of Catholic Theology. With a habilitation thesis on "Lex Naturae et Lex Gratiae" in East Asian mission history , she completed her habilitation in 2005 at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Münster in Mission Studies . From 2005 to 2014 she taught missions studies in Münster . The rehabilitation to Würzburg took place in 2013.

She was married to Elart von Collani and has three children. Her research interests are the history of missions and the church in East Asia, early mission theology, figurism in China, Daodejing and Yijing (Book of Changes), cultural exchange between China and Europe and the history of science.

Collani wrote numerous articles in the Biographical-Bibliographical Church Lexicon (BBKL).
