Claus Mathias-Clamath , also Claus Mathias , is a German singer , guitarist , composer and lyricist .

biography

In 1976 Claus Mathias Schmidt was the singer and guitarist of the band Red Baron, with whom he released the album Two Wings . From 1978 he drew attention to himself as the singer of various solo singles , which appeared under his shortened name Claus Mathias and were partly recorded in the style of the Neue Deutsche Welle . However , he did not succeed in listing on the chart . In February 1981 he joined with his song When one is doing to the leather , a cover version of Eddie Rabbitt -Hits Drivin 'My Life Away from 1980, in the ZDF telecast disco on. He was there again in April 1982 with the title I'm nobody guest. With Every song can be a new beginning he applied in the same year to participate in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest .

1982-89 Claus Mathias was a member of the Bavarian group Relax , which climbed to the charts with three albums and six singles during this time. As a composer, arranger and lyricist he worked alongside Relax u. a. worked for Wind , Bernie Paul , David Hasselhoff , Rolf und his friends , Guillermo Marchena and Die Partyvögel, as a choir singer he was involved in the recording of Nicole's album So wie du in 1988 .
