Claus Paal

Claus Paal (born March 8, 1967 in Waiblingen ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ). In the Baden-Württemberg state elections in 2011 , he received a first mandate as a candidate in the Schorndorf constituency .

biography

Claus Paal passed his Abitur at the Remstal-Gymnasium Weinstadt in 1986 and did his basic military service from 1986 to 1987 as a radio operator at the Donauwörth location . From 1987 to 1993 he completed a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe , which he completed with a degree in engineering . Paal is married, of Protestant denomination and lives with his wife Jutta in Weinstadt im Remstal .

Career as an entrepreneur

In 1993 Claus Paal took over his father's company - PAAL Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH, founded in 1965. In 2008 PAAL Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH was sold to Robert Bosch GmbH and renamed to Bosch Packaging Systems GmbH on February 1, 2011. At the end of 2010, Claus Paal retired from the company. Today he is managing director of the management consultancy Claus Paal GmbH.

Political career

Claus Paal has been an active member of the CDU Baden-Württemberg since 2004 . From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the regional assembly of the Stuttgart region and there for the CDU in the economic committee and deputy in the planning committee. On March 13, 2010, he was nominated as a candidate for the Schorndorf constituency for the 2011 state election. In the election on March 27, 2011, Paal won the first mandate for the Schorndorf state electoral district .

He is the spokesman for industry and trade in the CDU parliamentary group.

From 2015 to 2019 he was treasurer of the CDU Baden-Württemberg.

Volunteering

Claus Paal is President of the IHK Region Stuttgart District Chamber Rems-Murr and was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation from 2009 to 2014 . He is co-founder of the Packaging Excellence Center (PEC), the competence center for packaging and automation technology in Waiblingen, and is a member of the Packaging Technology Industrial Advisory Board at the Stuttgart Media University . Paal is a member of the Safe Landkreis Rems-Murr e. V. and acts as deputy chairman of the German Olympic Society in Rems-Murr.
