Claus Pittroff
Claus Pittroff (born June 13, 1896 in Stammbach , † December 2, 1958 in Bayreuth ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Pittroff trained as a teacher, was a soldier in World War I and from 1919 worked as a teacher at a primary and vocational school in Bad Berneck . From 1933 he was taken into so-called protective custody several times , including in Bayreuth prison and in Dachau concentration camp . As a result, he was dismissed from school and was banned from working from 1933 to 1945. From 1935 to 1945 he worked as a commercial director and partner in a food wholesaler in Nuremberg . He was a member of the Nuremberg Freemason Lodge Zur Truth.
Pittroff was a member of the German Democratic Party from 1919 to 1924 and then joined the SPD. In 1924 he became a city councilor and leader of the Reich Banner Black-Red-Gold in Bad Berneck . In 1945 he became mayor of Schwaig near Nuremberg , and from late 1945 to 1946 he was district administrator in Bayreuth . In 1946 he was a member of the state constituent assembly and the constitutional committee, after which he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament until 1958 , from 1950 directly elected in the constituency of Bayreuth-Stadt und -Land . In the Ehard I government , he was also State Secretary in the State Ministry for Education and Culture . After the SPD left the government, Pittroff resumed his post as Bayreuth District Administrator in 1948 and carried it out until 1952. In 1949 he was a member of the first Federal Assembly , from 1955 on he was a member of the Bavarian Constitutional Court as a non-professional judge.
