Clemens August von Syberg

Clemens August Freiherr von Syberg (* December 8, 1754 , † April 21, 1833 ) was the only district administrator in the Gemünd district .

Clemens August was the son of Freiherr Johann Adolph von Syberg from his marriage to Carolina Wilhelmina von Hersel. He himself had 16 children from his marriage to Sophia Franziska, born Freiin von Bottlenberg called Schirp , heiress of Haus Scheppen and Haus Witten .
Life
Until the French occupation of the Lord was Schloss Eicks , bailiff to Münstereifel . After the reorganization and annexation of the Rhineland to Prussia , he took up the post of district administrator of the newly founded district of Gemünd in 1816. He received the Order of the Red Eagle and the title of Privy Councilor on the occasion of his 50th anniversary . On May 1, 1829, the long-serving district administrator was retired and the district seat was relocated to Schleiden district while renaming it at the same time .
In addition to his home in Eicks Castle, which has been owned by the von Syberg family for several centuries, Clemens August acquired the upper castle of Vlatten Castle in 1787 and later also Berg Castle .
