Clemens Maximilian Strugalla (born May 1950 in Auerbach , Vogtland ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Clemens M. Strugalla studied art and craft education at the Braunschweig University of Art from 1970–1971 and 1973–1977 . In 1977 Strugalla became a member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists (BBK). From 1977 to 1979 he worked at the chair for elementary shapes in the architecture department of the Technical University of Braunschweig under Jürgen Weber as a research assistant / assistant.

Strugalla had its first workshop from 1980 to 1998 in Frankfurt-Griesheim , and another one has been located in the former Kreuzberg slate mine near Weisel since 1988 . In 1989 he took part in the 9th International Sculpture Symposium in Hoyerswerda . From 1990 to 1993 Strugalla was a board member of the Hessian regional association of the BBK. In 2003 he became chairman of the Frankfurter Künstlergesellschaft e. V. and received a study award from the Heussenstamm Foundation . In 2005 the artist was awarded the Cläre Roeder Münch Prize of the city of Hanau and took part in the sculpture symposium Artists against Violence in Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein.
