Clemens Steindl
Clemens Steindl (born May 27, 1944 in Ober-Grafendorf , Lower Austria) is an Austrian educator .
He headed the Volksbank Academy from 1993 to 1997 and, after retiring, was President of the Austrian Catholic Family Association from 2008 to 2011 . During his term of office, he applied for election to the ORF Public Council in 2010 and, with 75,532, failed to make it into this body by 142 votes.
Life
After completing his education at the Stiftsgymnasium Melk , he studied at the University of Vienna . In 1971 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. Steindl then worked in the banking sector in Cologne , Bonn and Mainz . In 1982 Steindl returned to Austria as Alois Mock's office manager . He held this position until 1991. Then the Lower Austrian governor Siegfried Ludwig brought him to the regional party leadership of the Lower Austrian ÖVP as department head for politics and education . From 1993 to 2007 Steindl was managing director of the Volksbankenakademie in Vienna in adult education and training.
On October 4, 2008, he became President of the Family Association. On July 6, 2011, Steindl resigned with immediate effect due to a lack of support for his re-election: "Obviously, there is no majority in the electoral commission, consisting of the chairmen of the nine diocesan family associations, in favor of this form of effective public relations work and no approval for a continuation of it Work, "said Steindl to Kathpress. In November 2011 Alfred Trendl was elected as Steindl's successor.
Steindl is married to Gertraude Steindl , former general secretary and current president of the Aktion Leben Austria association . You have two children.
