Clinton Rory Hill (born April 19, 1980 in Johannesburg ) is an Australian sprinter of South African origin who specializes in the 400-meter run .

In 1997 his family moved with him to Australia and Hill was granted Australian citizenship in June 2000 .

In terms of sport, he first drew attention to himself with a third place in the 400-meter run at the East Asian Games in Busan in 2001 . In the same year he won the silver medal at the Universiade in Beijing over this distance. In 2002 he won the first of three consecutive Australian championship titles in the 400-meter run. At the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 , he finished eighth over 400 m. At the World Athletics Championships in Paris in 2003 , he reached the semi-finals.

He celebrated the greatest success of his career so far at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens with the 4 x 400 meter relay . As the final runner in the final, he surprisingly won the silver medal behind the US relay team in 3: 00.60 minutes together with John Steffensen , Mark Ormrod and Patrick Dwyer .

In 2006 he won the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne with the relay. Over 400 m, however, he was eliminated in the semi-finals. Due to injury problems, he missed the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he finished sixth in the Australian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 00.02 min.

Clinton Hill has a competition weight of 79 kg with a height of 1.85 m. He starts for the Sydney University Athletics Club and is coached by Tudor Bidder.
