Mark Ormrod (born December 1, 1982 in Adelaide ) is an Australian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

He played soccer in his youth , but soon decided to switch to athletics and took part in the World Junior Athletics Championships in 2000. Later he was able to qualify for the Australian 4-by-400-meter relay , which competed at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris , but missed the final.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , he celebrated the greatest success of his career so far in the 4 x 400 meter relay. Together with John Steffensen , Patrick Dwyer and Clinton Hill , he surprisingly won the silver medal behind the US relay in 3: 00.60 minutes .

At the Commonwealth Games 2006 in Melbourne he won the gold medal with the relay and the silver medal at the Universiade 2007 in Bangkok . At the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka, however, he missed the final with the relay. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he finished sixth in the relay, but was only used in the qualifying round.

Mark Ormrod is 1.85 m tall and has a competition weight of 76 kg.
