Clovis is a city in the east of the US state New Mexico and the county seat of Curry County . It has 39,508 inhabitants (as of 2013), making it the eighth largest city in New Mexico. The area is 58.3 km². The Clovis culture is named after her.

Clovis was founded in 1909. The city was named after a daughter of a railway official.
