The Club Atlético Talleres ( argentin. Pron .: [ Taˈʃe.ɾes ]) is an Argentine football club from Remedios de Escalada in the Partido Lanús in the province of Buenos Aires . The club, also known as El Tallarín , was founded on June 1, 1906 as Talleres United Football Club . In 1931 the club was one of the founders of professional gaming in Argentina.

history

The club was founded in 1906 as Talleres United Football Club in the capital suburb of Los Talleres (in German: the shops ), which was founded in 1902 and located at a railway station . The red and white striped jerseys, and thus the club colors, were copied from the top team of Argentine football of that era, the Alumni Athletic Club .

The club was soon characterized primarily by financial bottlenecks. This meant that between 1908 and 1915 there was hardly any gaming operation. At the end of 1915, a new club management consolidated the club and joined the national football association, at that time the Asociación Argentina de Football .

Under the club name shortened to Talleres Football Club in 1920 , the club rose after the end of the game year 1925 for the first time in the then top division, the Primera División of the Asociación Amateurs de Football . A fifth place in 1930 was the outstanding placement here. In 1925 the club also acquired the land on which the facilities that still exist today, such as the stadium, were built. In 1926, the Los Talleres settlement was renamed Remedios de Escalada and the club temporarily became Club Atlético Talleres de Remedios de Escalada .

In 1930 the club had its only participant in a soccer world championship. At the tournament in Uruguay in 1930 goalkeeper Ángel Bossio stood between the posts in the three group games for the eventual runner-up in Argentina. In the final against the hosts, however, Juan Botasso of Argentino Quilmes was preferred.

In 1931 Talleres founded the professional game operation in Argentine football together with 17 other clubs. The club was part of the newly created Argentina de Football League , which initially had to do without sanctions from FIFA .

In terms of sport, Talleres established himself in the lower table quarter. In 1934 the club entered into a syndicate with another traditional cellar child of the time, CA Lanús . The Unión Talleres-Lanús did not go better, was third from bottom already dissolved and year-end. El Tallarín himself managed only rarely a trip to the first half of the table during the eight years of play in the first division. In the final bill, tenth place out of 18 participants in 1935 was the highlight. Again, the point and goal difference were negative. In 1938 they were relegated. Talleres has never returned to excellence since then.

Since then, the club has mostly been in second class, although excursions to the third division were not uncommon. The one-year stay in the fourth-class Primera C 1986/87 remained a one-time slip. Since 1995, however, the local footballers have been playing in the Primera B Metropolitana , the third highest class.

In 1999 the club went bankrupt, which only interrupted operations for a short time. These days the CA Talleres, who likes to market itself as "the pride of Escalada", has been purified again.

Stadion

The club's stadium, the Estadio de Talleres de Remedios de Escalada , holds around 8,000 spectators and is currently under renovation.

Known players

Other sports

Among other things, basketball, handball, volleyball and gymnastics are operated at the club. After 1945 some swimmers and water polo players were particularly impressive. More recently, basketball players have tended to delight the fan base.
