Clyde is a city in Callahan County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in the northwest of the county, slightly north of the geographic center of Texas, and has a total area of ​​6.2 km² without any significant water surface.

history

The first settlers came around 1876. Why the place got this name is not certain. Most likely, some of the crew of a foreman of the Texas and Pacific Railway Company named Clyde, which was called the Clydes at the time of the railway construction , have settled here.
