Coatesville is a settlement in the urban area of today's Auckland Council on the North Island of New Zealand . Until the end of October 2010, the settlement belonged to the Rodney District , which wasincorporatedinto the newly formed Auckland Council on November 1, 2010.
Origin of name
The settlement was in 1900 under the name Fernielea founded in 1926 in honor of the then Prime Minister Gordon Coates in Coatesville renamed.
geography
The settlement is located about 18 km northwest of downtown Auckland and about 5 km west-northwest of Albany , a suburb of the former independent city of North Shore City , now called North Shore Ward .
