Reception in Germany

Lena Bopp from the FAZ judged: “... The scenes are cut nice and fast, and the pictures, some of which were shot with a hand-held camera, sometimes dare to look at unusual perspectives. But at least the first "sex addict" case, which involves a woman strangled while making love, does not take up the unconventionality of the framework the series offers. Instead, she adheres to tried and tested police work: photos of suspects are posted on the bulletin board, cell phones are hacked, laptops confiscated, lovers interrogated. All of this happens with a routine that has no different face in Belgium than here, and that's a shame. Because "Sex and Crime" have always been a very promising mixture, and we were actually really looking forward to a lively and morbid moral police, whose work does not allow any consideration for civil sensitivities. "

Thomas Neumeier from Filmverliebt - The film blog had more forgiving words to say : “The power woman and a pack of backward men? Well-known role clichés? Have you ever seen everything like this somewhere? Well, that's what I thought at first. Above all, Hannah's team initially seems too constructed: there is a young nerd, a hardened macho and a conciliatory elder. The series and the characters need a few episodes to develop their charm. But then the initial role clichés become convincing characters who carry a highly entertaining series. There is no getting around gossips and jokes in this profession. They are an outlet for the investigators to be able to process their work and the abysses connected with it. "

Harald Keller from the Frankfurter Rundschau wrote: “All in all, this literally results in a comprehensive moral picture of Flemish society. The stories are intense, which explains the late airing date; in terms of craftsmanship, the series is on a contemporary level. In 2010, the creators were nominated for Best European Series at the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo. "
