Code Black (born July 30, 1987 in Sydney , real life Corey Soljan ) is an Australian DJ and music producer . His music can be classified in the genre of euphoric hardstyle . He is currently under contract with Brennan Hearts label WE R Music . He has lived in Breda , the Netherlands, since 2011 .
Career
A few months after separating from Bioweapon, he released his single Red Planet , which was very successful.
In 2013 he was voted 15th in the NATIONAL TOP 50 DJs at the In The Mix Top 50 People's Choice Awards 2013 , which is a national poll to determine the best artists in Australia . In the same year he also signed a contract with WE R Music . His single Brighter Day was the first release on the label. It reached number 28 in the Dutch charts, but it met with criticism that "it is too commercial" and "only on chart success".
In the following year he reached 92nd place in the DJ Mag Top 100 voting. Together with Atmozfears he contributed the Anthem to the XXlerator Festival called Accelerate . The single stayed in first place in the charts on hardstyle.com for a few weeks and is his most streamed single with over 9 million streams on Spotify alone . (Status: December 2019) Later in the same year he released the single Pandora , which also reached first place on hardstyle.com, and Unleash The Beast , which was the anthem of this year's Defqon.1 .
On August 13th, 2018 he released his first album Journey , which contains 19 songs. These include collaborations with, for example, Toneshifterz, Adrenalize or Da Tweekaz , as well as a remix of Nicky Romero's Lighthouse , which he also produced with Toneshifterz.
Since it was founded, he has appeared at various festivals such as Defqon.1 , Tomorrowland , Decibel Outdoor and Airbeat One .
Bioweapon
2008 and 2011 produced Soljan with Audiofreq as a duo project Bioweapon music. They also performed together.
In 2015 they got together again and did a little tour together. The following year they released the single The Lost Empire , which was the official Anthem of the Emporium Festival 2016, and an EP called Load The Weapon EP , which includes the tracks Reload The Weapon and Make A Move .
