The Coho is a ferry of the US Black Ball Ferry Line that entered service in 1959. It is used on the route from Port Angeles to Victoria and is one of the oldest active passenger ships in the world.

history

The Coho was built under hull number 105 at Puget Sound Bridge & Dry Dock in Seattle and launched on May 25, 1959. On December 28, 1959, the ship was commissioned for the Black Ball Line from Port Angeles to Victoria. However, it was also used on the route from Port Townsend to Seattle during its service life .

In 2004 the Coho received new machinery from General Motors . With almost 60 years of service, she is one of the oldest active passenger ships in the world.

The sister ships Queen of Sidney and Queen of Tsawwassen of the Canadian shipping company BC Ferries, which were commissioned in 1960, were based on the design of the Coho .

Furnishing

The Coho's passenger facilities include two lounges, a duty free shop, a souvenir shop and a cafeteria. There is also a tourist information office on board, where local excursions and rental cars can be booked.
