Colcha "K" is a town in the Potosí department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Colcha "K" is the capital and administrative seat of the province of Nor Lípez as well as the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Colcha "K" and is located at the exit of a narrow river valley at an altitude of 3,751 m above sea level. The exit of the valley into the plain is monitored by a military camp, the nearest villages are Mañica five kilometers south, and Puerto Chuvica 21 kilometers north.

From Potosí the asphalted highway Ruta 5 leads in a south-westerly direction 198 kilometers to Uyuni , from there it continues to the south-west and after 61 kilometers it reaches the bridge over the Río Grande de Lípez . Behind the bridge, Ruta 5 branches off in a north-westerly direction and after 36 kilometers reaches the village of Río Grande on the railway line from Uyuni to Avaroa on the Chilean border and on to Antofagasta . The road follows the railway line in a south-westerly direction and after another 30 kilometers reaches Julaca . Directly behind Julaca, an unpaved salt slope branches off in a north-westerly direction and leads for another 19 kilometers to Colcha "K".
