(1135) Colchis is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on October 3, 1929 by the Russian astronomer Grigori Nikolayevich Neuimin in Simejis .

The name is derived from Colchis , the earlier name for a region in Asia Minor, today's Georgia .
