action

After the tragedy from the first part, the only survivor, Jannicke, has just made it to the next town. The way from the ski hut is almost endless, but by chance a man finds her on the street. He delivers them to the local hospital. This is where the doctors Herman, Camilla and Audhild do their job. The only patients left are an elderly woman and little Daniel, because the hospital is due to be closed soon. Meanwhile, the police go looking for Jannicke's tormentor and try to understand the story. According to Jannicke's testimony at the police interrogation, the bodies of her friends and those of the perpetrator are said to be in a crevasse near an abandoned hotel (scene of the first part). In fact, the investigators find what they are looking for, the bodies are also brought to the hospital and laid out there. But she doesn't like the presence of the murderer at all. When she then witnesses his resuscitation, she freaks out and has to be immobilized by the nursing staff. While she, with medication, has no way of influencing what happened, the murderer comes to. When she wakes up in the night, it is pitch dark and different from usual.

He kills the guarding young police officer by cutting his throat. A short time later he kills Audhild with a fire extinguisher and soon afterwards Herman is killed by him with a broken neck. Daniel discovers Jannicke unnoticed. He cuts her handcuffs with scissors and they leave their room together. Fearing that something might happen to Daniel, she hides him in a linen closet. A little later she discovers a medicine cabinet and begins to fill a syringe. In her panic, she pushes this into Camilla, but without releasing the contents, when she is surprised by it. Since the doctor is worried about Herman, the two women soon separate again. On her search, the doctor in the morgue is surprised by the murderer and saved by Jannicke at the last second. Together they find Daniel and take him outside, where Camilla's friend Ole and police officers are already waiting for them. Daniel is picked up by his mother.

While two officers and Camilla's friend go to search the hospital, Jannicke and Camilla stay with a police officer in a patrol car and wait. The search party is surprised by the murderer and executed; the only survivor is the seriously injured Ole. Shortly afterwards, the killer attacks the police car outside and murders the policeman. Jannicke and Camilla are saved by Ole at the last moment when he shoots the murderer with the last of his strength and then collapses dead in front of the hospital. The murderer flees back into the mountains, whereupon Jannicke takes up the chase. She barricades herself in the hotel and wants to ambush him, but is overwhelmed by sleep and only wakes up the next morning when she is attacked. Camilla followed Jannicke to the hotel and intervened by shooting two fingers away from the murderer. The two women fight together until finally Jannicke throws his broken pickaxe into the back of the murderer, so that he collapses, fatally hit. To be on the safe side, shortly afterwards she takes the rifle and shoots the killer lying on the ground.

Reviews

“The technically impeccable continuation of the surprise hit 'Cold Prey' unfortunately relies too much on slasher standards and therefore cannot hold a candle to its predecessor in terms of atmosphere. Nevertheless, the second part is still worth seeing, at least for fans of European horror cinema. "

- Björn Helbig : film starts

“'Cold Prey 2 - Resurrection' is a sequel that doesn't top its predecessor, but it doesn't come off worse either. Equipped with staging density and craftsmanship, it offers the inclined viewer good slasher material, who does not make the mistake of necessarily wanting to open up new terrain and going wrong in the process, but realizes the tried and tested in style. A recommendation to genre friends, but also newbies should not regret a look. "

“With Cold Prey 2: Resurrection, the Norwegians have delivered a successful sequel that seamlessly ties in with the predecessor. An exciting, gripping and uncompromising film with a dense atmosphere, which, however, has a few small flaws that do not detract from the overall positive impression. "

“After a consistently solid first hour, the film drifts into a territory where there is no longer any logical thinking. [...] Although Cold Prey 2: Resurrection does not suffer from all the typical symptoms of a horror sequel, it cannot quite match the quality of its predecessor. "
