Colin Chilvers

Colin Chilvers (* 1945 in England ) is an English filmmaker specializing in special effects .

life and career

Chilvers began his career in the 1968 film Inspector Clouseau as the special effects manager. After various films, he received several awards for the film Superman in 1979, two of the awards being with other people.

It won the British Academy Film Award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema and an Oscar for Best Visual Effects . He was also nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Music Video for Moonwalker by Michael Jackson .

From the mid-1980s, Chivers worked occasionally as a director for television. So he staged a. a. five episodes of the television series Superboy .

Chilvers has a niece and a nephew who also work as filmmakers specializing in special effects.
