Henri Colpi

Henri Colpi (born July 15, 1921 in Brig , Valais ; † January 14, 2006 in Menton on the Côte d'Azur ) was a Swiss director , screenwriter and film editor .

Henri Colpi celebrated his greatest success with his first directorial work in 1961. Even after a year and a day ( Une aussi longue absence ) was awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1961 . Two years later he was awarded another prize at the 1963 Festival for his screenplay for the film Codine . He shot this and other films in collaboration with Romania , including 1965 Pour une étoile sans nom based on a play by Mihail Sebastian . However, his films flopped at the box office, so Colpi turned to television. For television he mainly worked as a director of television series . In the film editing category he was nominated for an Emmy for the documentary series Cousteau - Adventure Ocean ( The Cousteau Odyssey ) .
