The Kinkéliba ( Combretum micranthum ) is a species of long filament ( Combretum ). In the Mandinka language it is called Kinkiliba and in Wolof Segweou .
Occurrence
Combretum micranthum is native to West Africa. The kinkeliba is one of the most common species of the tiger bush and is often found on island mountains and locations with laterite crust.

This shrub reaches a maximum height of 3 meters.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 26.
use
The kinkéliba (also in the spelling Quinquéliba ) is well adapted to the dry climate of the Sahel zone and is used as a forage crop for ruminants. It is mainly eaten by sheep during the rainy season. It occurs mainly in deeper pastures.
The Kinkéliba has numerous uses in traditional medicine . A tea made from the leaves is drunk as a preventive measure against malaria , the fresh leaves are chewed against stomach pain and diarrhea. A brew from the roots is said to help against syphilis and worm infestation.
