Commonwealth Games 2018 / Basketball
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast , Australia , a women's and men's basketball competition took place from April 5 to 15, 2018 . There were a total of three venues: the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Center in Townsville , the Cairns Convention Center in Cairns and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center in Gold Coast.
Eight teams started in both competitions, which were divided into two groups of four. The group first and second in group A qualified directly for the semi-finals. The group first and second in group B and the first and second placed in group B played the quarter-finals. Both gold medals went to the host from Australia. The Australians beat Canada for men and England for women . Bronze went to New Zealand in both competitions .
