The Communauté de communes de la Semine is a former French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Haute-Savoie département , the administrative seat of which was in Chêne-en-Semine . The name refers to the limestone plateau La Semine , which rises about 250 m above the valley floor of the Rhone . Its natural boundaries were the Rhone to the north and west, the Usses river, which was also deepened into the plateau, to the south, and the Montagne de Vuache to the east . The community association founded at the end of 2001 consisted of seven communities and had 3,627 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of 59.3 km 2 , its president was most recently Paul Rannard.
tasks
The competencies required included the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning based on a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . In environmental matters , the community association operated sewage disposal, garbage collection and disposal and was responsible for water protection. He also operated the school bus service.
Historical development
With effect from January 1, 2017, the association of municipalities merged with the Communauté de communes du Val des Usses and the Communauté de communes du Pays de Seyssel and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes Usses et Rhône .
