The Usses (plural form; French: Les Usses) are a river in France that runs in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises near the hamlet of Le Vernay in the municipality of Arbusigny , generally drains south-west to west and flows into the Rhône as a left tributary after a total of 46 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Seyssel and Bassy in the Barrage de Seyssel reservoir . At its mouth, the river meets the neighboring Ain department .
