The Communauté de communes du Pays de Bâgé is a former French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Département Ain , whose administrative seat was in the town of Bâgé-le-Châtel .

The community association consisted of nine communities and had 14,544 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of ​​113.1 km 2 . It was a few kilometers east of Mâcon on the edge of the Bresse countryside and existed since the turn of the year 1997/98. Guy Billoudet was most recently president of the community association.

tasks

The competencies required included the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning based on a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association ran the road maintenance department and assumed responsibility for household waste disposal as a member of Organom , a superordinate special-purpose association active in the Arrondissement of Bourg-en-Bresse . In addition, the association maintained all sports facilities in its area.

Historical development

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association was merged with the Communauté de communes du Canton de Pont de Vaux to form the successor organization Communauté de communes du Pays de Bâgé et de Pont-de-Vaux .

The following nine municipalities belonged to the Communauté de communes du Pays de Bâgé: Asnières-sur-Saône , Bâgé-la-Ville , Bâgé-le-Châtel , Dommartin , Feillens , Manziat , Replonges , Saint-André-de-Bâgé and Vésines .
