Compressorhead is a hard rock and metal band from Berlin . The cast is exclusively made up of robots that play real electric and acoustic instruments. They were partly built from recycled metal.

history

The robots were built between 2007 and 2012. The band's first concert took place in Australia . In Germany it was presented on April 10, 2013 at the Musikmesse Frankfurt . In November 2015, the team behind the band started a crowdsourcing campaign on the Kickstarter platform to raise 290,000 euros for building a robot that would function as the equivalent of a singer. However, the campaign could only achieve a little over 40,000 euros. Nevertheless, in 2017 the construction of the singer Mega-Wattson could be realized, to whom the Canadian singer Rob Wright , who also acts as the songwriter of Compressorhead, lent his voice.

On the album Wir sind Gott by Hämatom , released in 2016, there is the song Offline - feat. Compressor head . In November 2017, Party Machine was released, their first own album.

Compressorhead mainly play cover songs by well-known bands from the fields of metal, hard rock and punk such as Motörhead , AC / DC , Pantera and the Ramones . The own album Party Machine can also be assigned to hard rock.

  • "Stickboy junior" hi-hat. Assistant to the drummer. It was built in 2007.

  • "Hellga Tarr" guitar, backing vocals. It was built in 2017.
