The Comunità Montana dei Castelli Romani e Prenestini is an association of a total of 13 municipalities in the Italian metropolitan city of Rome . It was formed by the usually quite small communities, which are at least partially in mountain regions, in order to strengthen the economic development of the region. Further tasks are the strengthening of tourism, nature conservation and the preservation of rural culture.
The area of the Comunità Montana includes most of the Albanian Mountains , which are commonly called Castelli Romani after the many noble residences of Roman families. Then there is the southern part of the Monti Prenestini around Palestrina. The Comunità has a circumference of 185 km². Its administrative headquarters are in Rocca Priora. The main cities are Frascati and Palestrina.
