Conrad Wimmer
Conrad Wimmer (born January 12, 1844 in Munich ; † November 26, 1905 there ) was a German landscape and hunting painter.
Wimmer began studying painting at the Vienna Art Academy with Johann Nepomuk Geiger .
From 1862 Wimmer continued his studies at the Royal Prussian Art Academy in Düsseldorf . There he made friends with his somewhat older fellow student, the Norwegian landscape painter Ludvig Munthe . Together they went on study trips and created autumn and winter landscape and hunting pictures.
Wimmer also visited Paris , where he exhibited his works in the salons there. At the World Exhibition in Paris in 1878 he was awarded a medal.
He showed his pictures at art exhibitions in Vienna (medals in 1876 and 1894), in Berlin (medals in 1872), in Amsterdam and London .
The influence of Eduard Schleich the Elder is noticeable in his works .
