Gaylussacia nana ( English dwarf dangleberry or Confederate huckleberry ) is a species of the heather family. It is native to the coastal plains of the southeastern United States. There is evidence from Louisiana , Alabama , Mississippi , Georgia , Florida , North Carolina, and South Carolina . It grows on moist or dry soils in forests, moors, on sand hills and in savannahs , usually at altitudes below 100 meters.

Gaylussacia nana is a shrub up to one meter tall that occasionally forms large stands of hundreds of individuals. It has pale green to yellow-green leaves up to four centimeters long. The inflorescences hang from the leaf axils or from the tips of the branches; they consist of 1… 4 greenish-white flowers. The fruits are sweet and juicy, usually dark blue but also white; the diameter is up to eight millimeters.
