Conradin Cathomen (born June 2, 1959 in Laax ) is a former Swiss ski racer .

biography

Cathomen achieved his first international success by winning the silver medal in the downhill at the 1976 European Junior Championship in Gällivare . He developed into one of the best downhill skiers in the world and won two World Cup races in the 1982/83 season . In the same winter he became Swiss champion in the downhill. He celebrated the greatest success of his career at the 1982 World Cup in Schladming , when he surprisingly won the silver medal in the downhill. After he did not qualify for the downhill team at the 1987 World Cup in Crans-Montana , he resigned at the end of the season.

He was married to the pop singer Marianne Cathomen and has been divorced from her since April 2005. They have two children, Nico and Carina. According to his information, Cathomen headed the AWD Region Eastern Switzerland from 1995 to 2002 and has been working as a partner at mas management assets services in Zurich since 2006 .
