Constantin Bulle

Constantin Carl Heinrich Bulle (born March 30, 1844 in Minden ; † July 31, 1905 in Bremen ) was a pedagogue , historian and member of the German Reichstag .

biography

Youth and job

Bulle was the son of the rector of the community school in Minden. The father was appointed head of the cathedral school in Bremen. Bulle attended the old grammar school in Bremen . From 1853 to 1862 he studied philology and history at the University of Jena and the University of Bonn . In 1867 he taught at the pre-school of the grammar school and in 1869 he became a teacher at the grammar school in Bremen. In September 1879 he was appointed professor and director of the grammar school. In 1870 he was a co-founder of the Literary Society in the Artists' Association in Bremen . He was also President of the Society at times.

politics

Bulle was national-liberal and in 1884 chairman of the German Liberal Party . Since 1872 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship . He was on the committee of the Reichsverein in Bremen.

From 1887 to 1890 he was a member of the German Reichstag in the electoral district of Bremen 1 for the German Progressive Party in the 7th electoral term . Suffering from gout, he then increasingly restricted his work.

Works

Bulle wrote several articles for the Weser newspaper . Since 1875 his multi-volume general history of the latest time (2nd edition 1815–85) and a history of the years 1871–77 appeared . His history of the Second Empire and the Kingdom of Italy appeared in the renowned historical book series General History in individual presentations .
