Constantin Marcus

Constantin Marcus (born September 6, 1806 in Insterburg , † March 15, 1865 in Gumbinnen ) was a German teacher and politician.

Life

Marcus grew up in Insterburg and studied at the Albertus University in Königsberg after graduating from high school . In 1829 he was one of the founders of the Corps Littuania after he had previously joined the Littauerkräzchen within the fraternity community in Königsberg.

After completing his training, Marcus became a teacher. From 1840 he was vice principal of the girls' school in Bartenstein . In 1848/49 he was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly in the Landsberg parliamentary group for the Friedland constituency . There he was the only East Prussian parliamentarian to vote for the abolition of the nobility .
