Constantin von Barloewen

Constantin von Barloewen (born November 29, 1952 in Buenos Aires ) is an international anthropologist and cultural scientist.

Life

Constantin von Barloewen, professor of anthropology and comparative cultural studies , has an international personal and professional career: Born in Argentina, he grew up in Germany and Latin America. Von Barloewen is active in research and teaching worldwide. His scientific stations include a .:

1982–1983: Honorary Research Associate at Harvard University
1986–1987: visiting professor at the University of Philosophy in Munich
1993–1996: Chair for anthropology and comparative cultural studies at the State University for Design in Karlsruhe
2001–2008: Head of the program for the dialogue between cultures and civilizations of the Schloss Neuhardenberg Foundation in Berlin
2011–2013: Senior Fellow & Senior Advisor at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), Klaus Töpfer's cluster , Potsdam

Von Barloewen was co-developer and scientific advisor of the project The Progress in Different Cultures of the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the Goethe Institute . The project was under the auspices of the United Nations . He teaches at the Université Européenne de la Recherche and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Harvard Academy.

In 2009 von Barloewen published a German-language book about conversations he had had with scientists, artists and politicians. These include u. a.
