The context verlag Augsburg deals primarily with regional products, cultural tourism and history. The geographic focus is on Augsburg , the Bavarian Swabia , the bordering Baden-Württemberg as well as Nuremberg and Regensburg . The publisher mainly publishes cultural travel guides, non-fiction books and illustrated books on these key areas.

History and program

The publishing house was founded in 2006 by Martin Kluger and Manfred Lehnerl. The thematic focal points of the publisher's range are city guides, cultural travel guides and non-fiction books on personalities and history topics associated with southern Germany ( Fugger , Mozarts , Elias Holl etc.) as well as illustrated books. For example, the history of the Fugger and the Augsburger Fuggerei is treated in several titles.

The editors in context verlag Augsburg have so far been the Swabian district , the Fürstlich und Graeflich Fuggerschen foundations, the cities of Augsburg , Donauwörth and Gersthofen , the Augsburg municipal utilities , several tourism associations and clubs as well as media companies based in Nuremberg, Regensburg, Aschaffenburg and in the Allgäu. Context verlag conceived the declaration of interest submitted by the city of Augsburg in 2012 to protect historic water management in Augsburg as a UNESCO World Heritage site ( hydraulic engineering and hydropower, drinking water and fountain art in Augsburg ) and published the booklet on historic water management and water art in Augsburg .
