Controguerra (wine)

Under the name Controguerra DOC are Italian white , rosé and red wines and sparkling wines from the region Abruzzo marketed. They have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1996 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

The cultivation and vinification of the wines are only permitted in the following municipalities in the province of Teramo : Controguerra , Torano Nuovo , Ancarano , Corropoli and Colonnella .

Controguerra DOC is offered in the following types of wine:

  • Controguerra Rosso (also called "Riserva" or Novello ) and Controguerra Rosato . The wines must consist of at least 70% Montepulciano grapes . A maximum of 30% of other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Abruzzo region may be added.
  • Controguerra Bianco . Must consist of at least 60% of the grape varieties Trebbiano Toscano and / or Trebbiano abruzzese , Malvasia , Passerina - individually or together. A maximum of 40% other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Abruzzo region may be added.
  • Controguerra Passito Rosso - must be made from at least 70% partially rosinated grapes of the Montepulciano grape variety. A maximum of 40% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Abruzzo region may be added.
  • Controguerra Spumante Metodo Classico - must be made at least 60% from the grape varieties Trebbiano Toscano and / or Trebbiano abruzzese and at least 30% from the grape varieties Chardonnay , Verdicchio , Pecorino . A maximum of 10% other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Abruzzo region may be added.

The following wines must contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Abruzzo region may be added.
