geography

It rises in the Northern Tableland of New South Wales at an altitude of 1260 m on the Great Dividing Range , about 3.5 km northeast of Riamukka . From there it flows southeast, takes on the Walcrow River and the Mummel River and finally flows into the Nowendoc River 33 km southeast of Nowendoc .

The land along the Cooplacurripa River is used as pasture, primarily for keeping beef cows. The 22,560 hectare Cooplacurripa calf rearing station on the river was formerly owned by the Australian Agricultural Company (AACo).
