Cordula Rau

Cordula Rau (born July 18, 1961 in Regensburg ) is a German architect , curator and publicist.

Life

Cordula Rau grew up in Regensburg as the daughter of the architect Hermann Rau, building officer in the Princely House of Thurn und Taxis . After graduating from high school, she began studying architecture at the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated in 1986. After completing her studies, Cordula Rau worked as an architect in Regensburg architecture offices, moved to Munich in 1991 and was project manager at the Schmidt-Schicketanz und Partner architecture office from 1991 to 1992 . From 1993 to 2000 she worked as a project manager at Stephan Braunfels Architects , from 2001 to 2003 she worked in an advisory capacity on the BMW Welt project for BMW AG .

In 2004 Cordula Rau started her own business and founded the agency Die Walverwandschaften , an office for communication, architecture, art and design. At the same time she worked as a freelance editor for the architecture magazine DETAIL . This was followed by further editorial activities for specialist publishers and magazines in the field of construction and architecture, such as architect portraits, specialist articles and interviews for daily newspapers and magazines. In 2006 Cordula Rau was involved in a research project on the subject of housing construction at the Chair for Housing Construction and Housing Management at the Technical University of Munich . Cordula Rau works in the areas of conception, text and editing for agencies, e. B. Martin et Karczinski and Kussmann Sacher, for institutes such. B. the Max Planck Society , and companies such. B. Euroboden, as well as for online and print media in the field of architecture, art and design. In 2010 Cordula Rau was General Commissioner for the German contribution to the 12th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice.
