Hans Jürgen Schmidt-Schicketanz

Hans Jürgen Schmidt-Schicketanz (* 1936 in Glatz ) is a German architect .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bad Reichenhall in 1954 , Schmidt-Schicketanz began studying architecture at the Technical University of Munich in the same year , from which he graduated in 1959. He then worked as an assistant at the TH and worked for Professor Josef Wiedemann until he opened his own architectural office in Munich in 1967, which has been operating as the Schmidt-Schicketanz und Partner (SSP) architects' association since 1970 (GmbH since 1991) and has received several awards.

Schmidt-Schicketanz is very committed to the profession. In 1971 he became a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, in 1979 a member of the Professional Association of Freelance Architects and Civil Engineers (BAB), of which he was President for three terms. From 1979 to 1983 he was a member of the competition committee in the chamber district of Upper Bavaria. From 1982 to 1988 and 1991 to 1997 Schmidt-Schicketanz was a member of the city planning commission of the state capital of Munich. From 1983 to 1985 he was a member of the board of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects. He has been a judge in architecture competitions since 1980. In 2013 the Chamber of Architects and the State Government honored him with the Bavarian Architecture Prize .
