Cornelia Gassner

Cornelia Gassner (born May 1, 1958 in Grabs , Canton St. Gallen as Cornelia Matt ; † December 15, 2016 in Mauren ) was a Liechtenstein politician ( FBP ). From 1993 to 1997 she was a member of the government and, as such, was responsible for the construction and transport departments. Gassner was the first woman in a Liechtenstein government .

biography

Cornelia Gassner was born in 1958 as the daughter of the dental technician Egon Matt and his wife Waltraud (née Ritter). She had four siblings, including Andrea Matt . From 1970 to 1978 she attended the Liechtenstein Gymnasium in Vaduz , where she graduated from high school . She then studied law in Innsbruck from 1978 to 1984 . In 1984 their promotion to Doctor of Law . She then studied from 1985 to 1986 at the London School of Economics and Political Science , where she received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 1986 . After working for a lawyer and fiduciary office in Vaduz from 1987 to 1997, she became self-employed as a fiduciary in 1997. From 2000 she worked as an independent lawyer. From 2000 to 2002 she was President of the Switzerland – Liechtenstein Society. In addition, Gassner was a lecturer at the Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences in Vaduz from 2001 to 2004. From 2003 to 2005 she was a member of the administrative board of the Rheintal-Werdenberg-Sarganserland hospital region and, from 2006, the administrative board of Liechtensteiner Volksblatt AG . Later she was a member or president of the board of directors of Liechtenstein TeleNet AG as well as Telecom FL AG and Telecom Liechtenstein, which emerged from the merger of these two companies in 2008.

Gassner was a citizen of the Triesenberg community . She was married and had three children. In 1994 she was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit .
