Corneliu Stroe

Corneliu Stroe (* 22. October 1949 in Bucharest ; † 11. June 2017 ) was a Romanian jazz - drummer and percussionist .

Live and act

Stroe was born in Bucharest but moved to Medias with his family when he was two years old . There he grew up and initially played in various local groups, including a. Orfeus . Between 1981 and 2005 he formed the Duo Creative with Harry Tavitian , which played at several jazz festivals a. a. performed in Sibiu , Galați and Ploieşti . He founded his Corneliu Stroe Balkan Blues Band and the Balkanamera group . He also worked with Gheorghe Zamfir , Ovidiu Lipan , Jazzographics , Blues Community , Aromanian Ethno Band , Mike Godoroja & Blue Spirit , Vasile Șeicaru , Foxy Lady Band, Direcția 5 , Pasărea Colibri , Nightlosers , Mircea Baniciu , Johnny Răducanu , Alexandru Andrieș and AG Weinberger . His daughter, Roxana Stroe , is considered the only known female Romanian blues guitarist.
