Cornelius Grupp

Cornelius Alexander Grupp (born December 3, 1947 ) is a German-Austrian entrepreneur .

Life

Grupp studied law at the Universities of Tübingen , Munich and Innsbruck . In 1975 he was recognized with the work The parliamentary control of foreign violence in the form of resolutions on Dr. iur. PhD . In 1977 he also obtained an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau .

Grupp is the sole shareholder of CAG Holding. a. the packaging manufacturer Tubex , PREFA aluminum products and the glass manufacturer Stölzle-Oberglas . Glanzstoff Austria GmbH , which was dissolved in 2009, also belonged to the CAG Holding . Overall, the group of companies has over 40 production sites and around 5000 employees.

Furthermore, he has been a member of the supervisory board of the Austrian private bank Schoellerbank AG since 1999 and of the board of directors of the Swiss goods testing group SGS SA since 2011 .

In 1999 he was appointed honorary consul of the Republic of Austria , based in Stuttgart and responsible for the state of Baden-Württemberg and the administrative district of Swabia of the Free State of Bavaria , as the successor to his father Alexander Grupp . In 2012 he was promoted to Honorary Consul General.

Cornelius Grupp has three sons with his wife Leopoldine - a descendant of Hugo von Maffeis : Cornelius jun. (* 1985), August (* 1988) and Leopold (* 1990). Since 1967 he has been a member of the Catholic student union AV Guestfalia Tübingen . He is President of the German-Austrian Society for the Promotion of Science and Art eV He also plays polo and is on the board of the Bavaria Polo Club. Since 1999 he has had both German and Austrian citizenship.

He is a cousin of the Trigema owner Wolfgang Grupp .
