Ruth Corset (born May 9, 1977 in Townsville ) is a former Australian cyclist .

Athletic career

Before Ruth Corset was active in cycling, she was a triathlete . In 2009 she won the silver medal in the road race of the Oceania Championships and won a stage of the Route de France Féminine ; in the overall ranking of the Grand Prix de Plouay-Bretagne she was fifth. At the road world championships in Mendrisio, she finished twelve. The following year she was Australian road champion and decided a stage of the Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l'Ardèche for herself, in which she was also third in the overall standings. In the same year she was fourth in the Tour of New Zealand , the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and second in the Tour Féminin en Limousin . In 2011 she was third on the Tour of New Zealand and sixth in the overall ranking of the Giro d'Italia Femminile , but also suffered several falls during races in Europe. In 2013, she finished third in the individual time trial of the Oceania Championships .

Despite this successful balance sheet signed Corset, the 2012 and 2013 Bizkaia-Durango was gone, no other contract with a cycling team, also because they are not for the Olympic Games in London was nominated.
