Amanda Spratt (born September 17, 1987 in Sydney ) is an Australian cyclist . She is considered a mountain specialist.
Athletic career
Spratt came third in the junior women’s individual time trial at the 2004 road world championships in Verona . In 2006 she was third on the track in the singles pursuit at the Oceania Games in Melbourne , in 2007 Australian champion in team pursuit , together with Skye Lee Armstrong and Toireasa Gallagher , and on the road in 2008 Australian U23 champion in the individual time trial.
In 2011 Spratt won the overall ranking of the Tour de Feminin - O cenu Českého Švýcarska, her first international cycle race. In 2012 she became the Australian road race champion for the first time and was able to defend this title in 2016. In 2017 Spratt won the overall ranking of the Tour Down Under for the first time . She was able to repeat this success in 2018 and 2019.
In 2018, Spratt won the Basque stage race Emakumeen Bira after a 50-kilometer solo on the last stage and thereby also won the overall standings. Later in the season she won the mountain finish on stage six at the Giro d'Italia Femminile and took on the pink jersey for one day. Eventually she was third overall and won the mountain classification . In September 2018, the then 31-year-old won silver in the road race at the World Championships in Innsbruck behind Anna van der Breggen.
In 2019 she won the Santos Women's Tour for the third time in a row, as well as a stage of the last Basque Tour, Emakumeen Bira.
