Tracey Gaudry , b. Watson (born June 17, 1969 in Yallourn, Victoria ) is a former Australian cyclist and current cycling official.

Cyclist

During her career as an athlete, Tracey Watson rode for the French cycling team Ebly in 1999 and for the US team Timex in 2000 .

In 1999 she was overall third in the women's cycling world cup and won the fifth competition in the series, the Canadian one-day race Coupe du Monde Cycliste Féminine de Montréal . She also became the Australian road driving champion. The following year she won the title in the individual time trial .

Gaudry represented Australia at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics, as well as at several UCI Road World Championships , her best placement being eleventh in the individual time trial of the 2000 World Cup .

Sports official

After her career as an active athlete, Gaudry took on various roles in Australian sport: She has been a member of the Australian Anti-doping Review Violation Panel since 2010 , was a. a. Member of the Executive Board of the Australian Cycling Federation from 2011 to 2012 and member of the Australian Institute of Sport Ethics Committee from 2001 to 2007 .

In 2010 Gaudrey became the Chief Executive Officer of the Amy Gillett Foundation named, which is in memory of the 2,005 at the Thüringen-Rundfahrt women fatally injured Amy Gillett of the rehabilitation of the injured with Gillett racers, the promotion of talented young women cyclists and security Busy cyclists on public roads.

On December 2, 2012, Gaudry was elected President of the Oceanic Cycling Federation to succeed Michael Turtur , who was accused of a conflict of interests between the Continental Federation and his position as race organizer of the Tour Down Under, particularly with regard to the treatment of the Lance Armstrong doping affair . Due to this presidency, Gaudry automatically became a member of the Management Committee of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

After Brian Cookson was elected President of the UCI in September 2013, replacing Pat McQuaid , he named Gaudry one of its three Vice Presidents. Gaudry has also been appointed President of the newly created UCI Commission for Women's Cycling.
