The long-stemmed mucous foot ( Cortinarius elatior , Syn .: C. lividoochraceus Berk. ) Is a type of fungus from the family of the veil relatives (Cortinariaceae). Within the veils it belongs to the section Elatiores ( Defibulati ) of the subgenus mucous feet ( Myxacium ).

features

The hat is olive or ocher brown to dark purple brown. It is bell-shaped to hunched and clearly wrinkled radially. When fully grown, its diameter is 10–15 cm. The lamellae are wrinkled, clay-colored and have paler, ciliate edges. They are occasionally connected to each other (anastomizing). The spindle-shaped stem becomes 10–20 cm long and 1–2.5 cm thick. Below the slimy residue of the veil it is purple in color and slimy-sticky, above it is rather greyish and grooved. The meat ( trama ) is pale, odorless or smells like honey.

Ecology and phenology

The long-stemmed slime foot is a mycorrhizal fungus that is associated with birch , red beech and spruce in Central Europe . It grows gregariously in deciduous and mixed forests, in Central Europe its fruiting bodies appear in summer and autumn.
